Community Service Partners
An integral part of our mission is serving the community with our skills and passion. We are fortunate to have strong ties with several community service partners. Throughout the year we arrange formal volunteer events for the MHA program. In addition, our volunteer representatives coordinate numerous informal service opportunities for our students to participate in.
CHAT / Church Hill Activities & Tutoring
CHAT is a faith-based organization that focuses on community building and youth sponsorship in the Church Hill area. CHAT's diverse activities include after-school tutoring, life-skills classes, summer camps, and a Street Leader Program. Our volunteer activities with this organization includes street cleanups and after school tutoring.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
The Ronald McDonald House provides a place to stay for families with a child in a Richmond hospital or other medical facility. Our volunteer activities with this organization includes preparing meals for families, cleaning the facilities, and contacting potential donors.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life
Relay for Life is a volunteer-driven fundraiser for The American Cancer Society to raise money for cancer research, celebrate the lives of survivors, and raise awareness in the community. During the overnight event, at least one member of the team walks or runs on a track during the 24 hour relay.
Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity
Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that builds and repairs houses for Richmond residents in need.
