- The VCU Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at:

The MSOT program is now closed for admission to be replaced by the entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctorate. The last MSOT cohort will graduate in December, 2017.
- The developing entry-level VCU Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program has been granted Candidacy status by ACOTE. Final decision on accreditation is scheduled for April 2018. The first class of entry level OTD students is scheduled to graduate in May 2019.
- Upon graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program, students are eligible to sit for the national certification examination, administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc (NBCOT).

The total number of graduates from the VCU Master of Occupational Therapy program during the previous 3-year period (2014-2016) was 128 with an overall graduation rate of 100%.
