Northern Virginia Site
The Department of Nurse Anesthesia has secured dedicated teaching spaces in Alexandria, Virginia. Students of the Northern Virginia cohort are no longer required to relocate to Richmond for their first year of coursework. All didactic coursework is delivered via two-way high-definition videoconference technology from the Richmond site, and among all satellite sites. Students will have to visit the Richmond campus for some laboratory exercises and simulation experiences.
Northern Virginia Class of 2014
All coursework is delivered via videoconferencing technology to the newly-renovated Edsall Road site. This allows students and faculty at the distant site to see, and speak to the students and faculty at the Richmond, Roanoke and Abingdon sites in real-time. A Web-Casting feature is provided which allows presentations to be archived; enabling all students at all sites the ability review course lectures and presentations at a later time from a location with internet access. All assessments are taken on site proctored by VCU staff. The department additionally offers the DNAP program on the Nova site.
The NOVA site classroom is located on Edsall Road, approximately 1.5 miles from I-395 and convenient to public transportation connections.
