Bob Lamb Distinguished Lecturer

Dr. Bob Lamb was chairman of the Department of Physical Therapy from 1986-2000. He served the school in many ways and was dedicated to the profession, leading to many awards from the APTA and the University. Dr. Lamb mentored many graduate students who proceeded to establish themselves as distinguished researchers in Physical Therapy. This year’s Bob Lamb Distinguished Lecturer is G. Kelley Fitzgerald, PhD, PT, FAPTA, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Professor, Department of Physical Therapy, and Director of the Physical Therapy Clinical and Translational Research Center, University of Pittsburgh. His current clinical and research activities specialize in evaluation and treatment of knee disorders with a special emphasis in knee osteoarthritis. He has received numerous research grants including federal funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Agency for Health Research and Quality, and has published numerous research and other articles related to physical therapy management of knee disorders.
This year’s lecture was given on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, entitled “Exercise, Manual Therapy, and Use of Booster Sessions in Physical Therapy for Knee Osteoarthritis: Experience from a Multicenter Randomized Trial.”
