Angela S. Duncan serves as Assistant Professor and Assistant Chair of the Department of Patient Counseling in the School of Allied Health Professions at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She is also the Manager of Bereavement Services and the faculty chaplain for the Pauley Heart Center at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCUHS). She holds a B.S. from Howard University, a M.Div. from Union Presbyterian Seminary, and a M.S. and Ph.D. from VCU. She is an ordained minister, speaker, and workshop facilitator.
Angela Duncan has been a presenter and continuing education facilitator for the School of Medicine, Department of Psychology, Department of Social Work, and the Pauley Heart Center. Her research interests include chronic illness, end of life, artificial devices, interdisciplinary patient centered care, spiritual and cultural aspects of chronic illness and coping and self-care for the professional caregiver.
Prior to VCU, Angela Duncan’s experience includes Healthcare Information Technology, Medical and Hospital Practice Management, and the Automobile and Aerospace Industry. She has also served on various boards in the health, finance, education, television, and service industry.
